Itinerary:
Day 01. Kathmandu to Jiri: (2370m): Drive by bus via the Araniko highway to Lamosangu. Whilst passing the old Newar towns of Banepa and Dhulikhel you will have an excellent panoramic view of the eastern Himalayas, including Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung and Dorjee Lakpa. The road descends to Panchkhal, then climbs over a ridge behind Dolalghat and follows the Sunkoshi north to Lamasangu. After passing several villages you will reach Jiri.
Day 02 Jiri to Bhandar: (2150m): The trek starts with a climb to the ridge top at 2370m, then drops down to Shivalaya at 1750m. From Shivalaya climb again to Sangbadanda, Deorali Pass. From Deorali danda descend again to Bhandar, a small Sherpa village with a Tibetan Buddhist monastery.
Day 03 Bhandar to Sete: The trail drops down to the Linkhu Khola, crosses the river at 1490m, then treks along it to Kenja at 1570m. Now the long ascent to the Lamjura Bhanjyang pass begins. It then it traverses to Sete village (2575m).
Day 04 Sete to Jubesi: The trail passes gradually up through Lamjura Pass (3530m), which is the highest point between Jiri and Namche Bazaar. The trail then descends through fir and rhododendron forest and emerges after one and half hrs at Taktor. Traverse on the north side of the valley round a notch before dropping down to the Sherpa village of Junbesi for an overnight stop.
Day 05 Rest day at Junbesi: The region around Junbesi is well worth exploring and a day spent here can offer a variety of alternatives. Two hours' walk to the north of Junbesi is the village of Phugmochhe (3100m), where there is a traditional Sherpa art centre. En-route to Phugmochhe a short diverson will allow a visit to Thubten Chhuling, a huge Tibetan Buddhist monastery about one and half hour's walk from Junbesi.
Day 06 Junbesi to Nunthala: Below Junbesi the trail crosses the Junbesi Khola on a wooden bridge. Just beyond the bridge there is a trail junction. The route to Khumbu follows the left-hand trail that leads uphill. This trail turns north, descending through Salung. From the Dudhkoshi River the trail ascends to Ringmo and the Trak Shidno Pass. There are a few shepherds' huts beside the trail, but the route is mostly hidden in dense forest. The trail crosses several picturesque streams on wooden bridges just before reaching Nunthala (Manidingma) at 2320m. Overnight stay here.
Day 07 Nunthala to Bupsadanda: (2300m): From Nunthala the descent continues to the Dudhkoshi at 1480m and crosses it to follow the other bank. Most of the trail is well defined, although it sometimes meanders through terraced fields and yards of houses. It then descends steeply through forests to a Chautara (resting place) overlooking the river. Follow the river for a while through forests then climb through terraces to reach the Rai village of Jubing (1667m). Climb through the village around a ridge and aim for the prominent notch in front of you. From this notch contour to the village of Khari Khola (2004m) to push on up the steep hill to Bupsadanda.
Day 08 Bupsadanda to Surke: The trail descends from Khari Khola village and crosses a stream of the same name via a suspension bridge near some water-driven mills at 2010m. After a steep climb to Bhupsa, or Bhumsing, (2300m) the trail continues to climb through a tributary valley filled with prickly leaned oak and rhododendron forest, where languor monkeys may occasional be seen. Descend (305m) and cross the next tributary after one hour. Continue on the north side of the valley to reach Puiyan (2796m) for an overnight stay.
Day 09 Sukre to Phakding: The trail climbs for about an hour after Puiyan to the ridge at 2800m, followed by another ridge. The trail descends to Sukhe (Buwa) at 2293 m, situated on a tributary of the Dudhkoshi. The trail remains above the village circling it like an expressway. The village of Surkhe, at the bridge crossing the tributary below, is 2 hrs from Puiyan. The trail now leaves this tributary valley and heads more directly north towards Chaurikharka, another dispersed village. Before ascending to Chaurikharka (2713m) the main trail crosses a spectacular deep gorge with a high waterfall (2408m). Overnight stay at Phakding.
Day 10 Trek to Namche Bazaar (3535 mtrs.). Overnight at Guest House.B.L.D.
Day 11 Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D. This is a day for an acclimatization. We have a fine walk around the valley to adjust with thin air. Namche Bazaar is known as the entrance of the Everest. We will take you to a museum too on the same day. There you can see the traditional of Sherpa peoples. Besides, a fine view of the Everest and other mountains can be overviewed from this place.
Day 12 Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3850m). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D. By reaching Tengboche, we visit a monastery known as Tengboche monastery. Then you will be taken to observe the prayer ceremony whether in the evening or morning. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.
Day 13 Tengboche to Dingboche (4350 mtrs.). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.
Day 14 Day trip to Chhukung valley and trek back to Dingboche. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D. Today you can enjoy another day for acclimatization. This day we will have trip to Chhukung valley, then we return to Dingboche in the evening. We will take you to Chhukung Ri (5546 mtrs) too. From there, we can observe a fifth highest mountain Makalu.
Day 15 Dingboche to Lobuche (4950 mtrs.). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.
Day 16 Lobuche to Ghorakshep (5160 mtrs.). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.
Day 17 Trek to Everest Base camp (5400 mtrs.) and return to Ghorakshep. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.
Day 18 The day starts with a hike up to Kalapathar (5545 mtrs.), an excellent viewpoint to observe the Mount. Everest and innumerable spectacular mountains views. Then trek back to Pheriche (4280m). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.
Day 19 Trek to Khumjung Village (3753 mtrs.). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.
Day 20 Trek to Phakding (2610 mtrs.). Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.
Day 21 Trek to Lukla. Overnight at Guest House. B.L.D.
Day 22 Morning flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla. B.B.
Day 23 Leisure day in Kathmandu (it's also spare day incase of bad weather in Lukla). Overnight at Guest House. B.B.
Day 24 Transfer to Airport for your home departure. Farewell !!
